What We Do

Going out

We take groups to the Holy Land to experience the 5th Gospel in a gentle and reflective manner, meeting and praying with the Christian Community in Jordan, Palestine and Israel: allowing pilgrims to explore for themselves the relevance of Christ's message to the world.

Bringing back

We are the UK importers of Christian altar wines, certified by the Latin Patriarchate as pure wines for the celebration of the Eucharist.

Speaking up

We hold "Bethlehem Evenings" for parishes and groups all over the UK. These informal evenings with a PowerPoint presentation of life in Jordan, Palestine and Israel raise awareness of the lives of Christians in the Middle East, as well as a chance to try Middle Eastern food.

Pilgrimages

On pilgrimage we do what we describe as a lectio of the land - letting the land and environment uniquely speak to us and listen to God. We find the stories and parables and healing miracles come to life in a new way when we see where they happened.

We try always to celebrate Sunday Mass with the Church of the Nativity parish in Bethlehem; our priests usually concelebrate, and most of us find it heartwarming and inspiring to meet and worship with the Christian community. The church is full of young people raising the roof with their singing. If not the Nativity parish, then we celebrate Mass with another parish, united and in solidarity.

Altar (Communion) Wines

We import altar wines from Latrun monastery – a Christian oasis of peace and contemplation in the countryside between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.  The monastery was established in December 1890 by French, German and Flemish monks of the Cistercian Order (Trappists) from Sept-Fons Abbey in France.

The Santa Messa altar wine is certified by the Latin Patriarchate as a pure wine for the celebration of the Eucharist.  It is a honey-coloured slightly sweet white wine.

We supply both:

  • Wholesale by the pallet or half pallet, to churches direct from the ship arriving from Haifa (Israel) into the port at Felixtowe. A pallet is 50 cases of 12 bottles.  Deaneries also buy the wine this way to distribute to their local parishes.

  • Retail with a minimum order of two cases and deliver direct to churches around the country from our shipper’s warehouse near London.

Holy Land Events

We are happy to come to a parish for a lunch or an evening event, with a presentation of life in the Holy Land, including Jordan.  These meetings are a time for an informal introduction and discussion over a glass of wine, and often lead to a parish pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
