<image:caption>Pilgrimage to Jordan (the early years) This pilgrimage for 7-8 days covers the early years of Salvation History, following the Israelites through the desert, valleys and mountains of the Exodus route to see the “Promised Land”. Beginning in the city of Petra, then into the silence, peace and pure air of the wilderness before continuing north to the plains of Moab. We renew our promises at the Baptism site of Jesus. Pilgrims can also opt to spend extra days at the sites of Jesus’ miracles and the Early Church and to meet Jordanian and Iraqi Christian refugees.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Pilgrimage to Jordan, Palestine and Israel This pilgrimage outlines 3,000 years of Salvation History over 16 days. Beginning with the Exodus journey of the Israelites and leading to Jesus and the birth of the Church. After Petra and two days in the wilderness, the Exodus journey ends at Mount Nebo before crossing the R. Jordan into Israel and Palestine. We spend days in Bethlehem and Jerusalem, before travelling to Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee for 3 days. Finally, we cross back over the R. Jordan into the green hills of north Jordan, the sites of Jesus’ miracles, and the national shrine of Our Lady of the Mount.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Pilgrimage to Palestine and Israel This pilgrimage is for 10 days and covers the story of Jesus in the land where he lived. We spend five days in the south focussed on Bethlehem and Jerusalem and visit the holy sites of Jesus’ birth, death and resurrection. We then travel north via Nazareth and an overnight stay in the hills. Finally we stay 3 or 4 nights on the shore of the Sea of Galilee reflecting on Jesus’ life, ministry and miracles in the north.</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - A Retreat with 5th Gospel in the Holy Land</image:title>
<image:caption>Each year we hold a retreat in the Holy Land for 10-12 days. The retreats started after listening to many pilgrims who wished to return to the Holy Land to spend more time in one place, and to have peace and spiritual direction to go deeper into appreciating the Gospel in the land where Jesus lived. A retreat typically opens with two or three days of orientation and a gentle winding down, followed by five days of silence which form the core of the retreat. Each silent day there is a Conference, liturgy of the Office, Mass and Adoration. Personal one-to-one spiritual direction is available each afternoon. We come out of silence to enjoy the final days in one of the other lovely places in the Holy Land. We began in 2014. The pattern has developed to alternate the main location and orientation between a) the north at the Sea of Galilee and the sacred sites of Nazareth and Jesus’ ministry and b) the south in the hills of Judaea, Jerusalem and Bethlehem. We have been delayed in 2020 and 2021 but hope in 2022 to introduce a desert element as well, and will finish with 3 nights at the Sea of Galilee.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Story - What we believe</image:title>
<image:caption>We believe that the real hope for peace in the Holy Land lies with people of Faith acting together, transcending the theological divisions humanity has made of the one God of the three Abrahamic Faiths. We believe that the Palestinian Christians, in spite of their diminished number, have a critical role to play in the peace process in the Holy Land, as they form the cultural and theological bridge between Muslims and Jews. For this reason our focus is on the Christians of Palestine, Jordan and Israel and in solidarity with their lives of enduring witness to peace. We also believe that the Christian Church must speak up and act for justice. Christians must continually make known the persecution and suffering of Christians and others in the Middle East and world wide, and act to end it.</image:caption>

<image:title>About Bethlehem - Culture</image:title>
<image:caption>Bethlehem may be small, but it is home to one of the world's oldest Christian populations and the global Church across time, with the Orthodox, Roman and Eastern Churches all sharing the same Arab Palestinian culture. Many liturgies are celebrated with chants from the earliest days of the Church, often overheard through open church doors as one walks by. The souk (market) stretching through two Quarters is fascinating; huge displays of fruit, herbs and vegetables, small Aladdin's caves of shops with things hidden away; falafel stands, kebabs, BBQ chicken, sweet and cake stalls, bakeries, restaurants, crafts - and above all - churches. The two or three modern noisy roads with traffic are in stark contrast to the walking pace of the rest of the city. Faith, Family and Food are the underpinning values of the culture, alongside the current American and European influences introduced via television and the internet. In spite of the grim reality of living in a city ringed by a 26' wall and "settler only" roads, people are unfailingly helpful, polite and generous. Spending time in Bethlehem inspires one to marvel at the endurance of the human spirit and to share its warmth.</image:caption>

<image:title>What We Do - Pilgrimages</image:title>
<image:caption>On pilgrimage we do what we describe as a lectio of the land - letting the land and environment uniquely speak to us and listen to God. We find the stories and parables and healing miracles come to life in a new way when we see where they happened. We try always to celebrate Sunday Mass with the Church of the Nativity parish in Bethlehem; our priests usually concelebrate, and most of us find it heartwarming and inspiring to meet and worship with the Christian community. The church is full of young people raising the roof with their singing. If not the Nativity parish, then we celebrate Mass with another parish, united and in solidarity. <image:title>What We Do - Altar (Communion) Wines</image:title>
<image:caption>We import altar wines from Latrun monastery – a Christian oasis of peace and contemplation in the countryside between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. The monastery was established in December 1890 by French, German and Flemish monks of the Cistercian Order (Trappists) from Sept-Fons Abbey in France. The Santa Messa altar wine is certified by the Latin Patriarchate as a pure wine for the celebration of the Eucharist. It is a honey-coloured slightly sweet white wine. We supply both: Wholesale by the pallet or half pallet, to churches direct from the ship arriving from Haifa (Israel) into the port at Felixtowe. A pallet is 50 cases of 12 bottles. Deaneries also buy the wine this way to distribute to their local parishes. Retail with a minimum order of two cases and deliver direct to churches around the country from our shipper’s warehouse near London. Contact us for more details ⟶</image:caption>

<image:title>What We Do - Holy Land Events</image:title>
<image:caption>We are happy to come to a parish for a lunch or an evening event, with a presentation of life in the Holy Land, including Jordan. These meetings are a time for an informal introduction and discussion over a glass of wine, and often lead to a parish pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Contact us for more details ⟶</image:caption>

<image:caption>Pilgrimage to Jordan, Palestine and Israel This pilgrimage outlines the 3,000 years of Salvation History over 16 days. Beginning with the Hebrew Scriptures and the Exodus journey of the Israelites, and leading to the Gospels and the birth of the Church. The journey begins with Petra and two days in the wilderness, before completing the Exodus journey at Mount Nebo and crossing the River Jordan into Israel and Palestine. We focus on the life, death and resurrection of Jesus in Bethlehem and Jerusalem, and then travel north to Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee where we stay for a few days. Finally, we cross back over the River Jordan into the northern green hills of Jordan and sites of Jesus’ miracles and the national shrine of Our Lady of the Mount.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Pilgrimage to Jordan (the early years) This pilgrimage covers the early years of Salvation History usually in 7 or 8 days, following the Israelites through the desert, valleys and mountains of the Exodus route to the “Promised Land”. We begin by travelling south to the magnificent city of Petra. Then into the silence, peace and pure air of the wilderness of biblical Punan, before the final part of the journey to the plains of Moab. We renew our Baptismal promises at the Baptism site of Jesus in the River Jordan (above). Pilgrims often wish to meet Jordanian Christians and Iraqi Christian refugees at this point, and opt to spend an extra day or two in north Jordan at the sites of Jesus’ miracles and the very early Church.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Pilgrimage to Palestine and Israel (the Holy Land) This pilgrimage is usually for 10 days and covers the story of Jesus in the land where he lived. We spend five days in the south focussed on the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus in Bethlehem and Jerusalem and visit the holy sites of events in his life. We then travel north via an overnight stay in the hills, recorded in scripture as a place where Jesus stayed. Nazareth gives us the treasure of Mary, Joseph and family life, and we visit the many sites of Jesus’ life, ministry and miracles in the north, staying for three or four nights on the shore of the Sea of Galilee.</image:caption>

<image:title>Friends & Partners - Bethlehem University</image:title>
<image:caption>The University of Bethlehem is a Catholic University founded in the 1960s and inspired by the prophetic vision of Pope Paul VI. The University is partly funded by the Vatican but is otherwise dependent on donations. It is a beacon of hope and excellence for Bethlehem, providing a tertiary education for Muslim and Christian alike. Many students have great difficulty finding the fees - even though they are heavily discounted - and donations can be designated to help provide bursaries for them.
